Garlic Crusted Prime Rib Roast
Making a prime rib roast can seem daunting, but it’s really very simple, and mostly hands off.
INGREDIENTS
Woodbridge Prime Rib Roast (boneless prime rib roast)
5 - 7 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp. oil
1 tsp. fresh black pepper
1/2 Tbsp. sea salt
1 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. melted butter
DIRECTIONS
Make sure roast is at room temp before cooking. Preheat oven to 500°F
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl until well blended, set aside
Place the room temp roast in a roasting pan with fatty side up. Spread mixture evenly over the roast
Cooking time will vary by the EXACT size of the roast you have. To calculate cooking time, multiply the exact weight of the roast by FIVE. Round the resulting number to the nearest whole number. The rib roast is cooked at 500°F for exactly that many minutes.
For example, for a 4 pound rib roast: 4x5=20, so cook time is 20 minutes.
Turn oven off and wait 2 hours before opening the oven door (seriously, no peeking, or opening the door for any reason, you can do this!) DON”T OPEN THE OVEN DOOR FOR THE NEXT TWO HOURS
Enjoy!
Note: I like to turn the oven back on to 350 for 5 to 8 minutes to warm the roast back up a little, only after the time is up. But this is just my preference.
